Sustainable wine brand When in Rome today announced it has achieved B Corp certification, joining a community of 1,500 UK organisations including well-known brands such as Patagonia, Ben and Jerry’s and Tony’s Chocolonely reinventing business by pursuing purpose as well as profit.
To become a certified B Corp, companies undergo a rigorous review of the impact of their operations and business model on their workers, customers, communities and environment, and must meet a minimum verified score on the B Impact Assessment.
When in Rome is no stranger to assessing its climate impact, becoming the first UK wine brand to publish the carbon footprint of its products with partner CarbonCloud two years ago.
Operations Director and Sustainability Lead Claire Forgione, said: “Assessing and publishing the climate impact of our wines was a great start to our commitment to transparency and becoming a B Corp was the natural next-step.”
